Team

Geeks’Phone was launched, as a private business venture, at the beginning of 2009. Ever since its establishment, the human team that is behind this project has gradually increased and it has developed its activity driven by an enthusiastic and dynamic spirit.

Our project has awakened great interest, since it started, among the members of the mobile telephony sector, here in Spain. We would like to show our gratitude to all the people (most of them former executives of the sector’s key companies) that from the beginning and selflessly, have supported us. Thanks to their help and interest Geeks’Phone has turned into a reality and has a brilliant future ahead.

The members of the core of the team are:

Rodrigo Silva-Ramos, CEO & Co-Founder

As a renowned specialist in his professional field (TV and Movie Production) he is the creative driving force behind the Company. His forward-looking approach of technology as a means to achieve freedom and self-improvement motivates and structures Geeks’Phone philosophy. As an expert “executive geek” he has a broad knowledge of the latest mobile telephony and multi-media technologies. Through an enthusiastic and open-minded attitude he ensures fluid, dynamic and responsible decision making.

In 2001 he created Welcam, a Spanish Company which was a pioneer in general purpose video streaming through IP.

Javier Agüera, COO & Co-Founder

Even though he is the youngest team member, he has an essential role within the Company. His wide knowledge of the global mobile telephony hardware industry and his experience regarding supply chain processes and outsourcing in Asia have turned him into one of our most valuable assets. These are some of the functions that he develops: general management and particularly supply chain control; strategic relations with our manufacturing partners, suppliers and corporate clients; press relations and public relations with our users. He also supervises our activity in terms of marketing and graphics/multimedia.

Javier Kessler, CFO

He is the main responsible regarding the Company’s financial operations. He is in charge of: investment opportunities, risk assessment, financial planning, accounting management, credit lines and finally private-equity and venture-capital relations.

Javier has developed a successful career within the Spanish financial sector. He was a member of CNMV (National Stock Market Comittee) and worked for Renta 4 and Capital at Work intl’, as a senior consultant. He has grown to currently become an independent financial consultant. He recently obtained one of the first EAFI licenses in Spain.

Thanks to his wide experience he has participated in such media as Bloomberg. He now directs a financial TV program in Intereconomía TV.

Nino Copano, Business Development VP

He is an expert concerning imports, commercialization and distribution of Asian made products. Nino has a broad experience in commercial relations at a corporate level. His entrepreneurial nature, turn him into an enthusiastic member of this team, conveying his optimism and vitality to all of us. He is in charge of commercial relations and partnerships and he supervises the supply and distribution chain. He is also in charge of logistics in terms of import/export, customs, stocks and transports. His successful career managing Sardell Imports Inc. guarantees his efficient management.

João Silva-Ramos, International Relations VP

As a press correspondent for such prestigious media as Paris-Match Magazine and the Washington Post he has lived in 29 different countries. He has also accumulated a broad experience regarding foreign relations and international commerce as well as an impressive worldwide business network. Together with his brother Rodrigo, he has always felt fascination for new technologies and cutting-edge innovation. His aim is to adapt Geeks’Phone business concept to other countries, opening new markets and turning the Company into an international key-player. He contributes to the company’s success through his cosmopolitan and open-minded spirit and he is absolutely enthusiastic about Geeks’Phone enormous potential in the global market.
